Scott Miller
Director of Public Affairs and Sustainability

Scott Miller is the Director of Public Affairs and Sustainability at Knauf Insulation. He is responsible for Knauf’s external relations with public regulatory agencies and other key standard-setting organizations and interest groups. In this role, his areas of interest include the codes, regulations and technical standards impacting products, manufacturing operations, market development and Knauf environmental sustainability initiatives.

With more than 30 years of product assessment and testing experience, Scott is a recognized expert in the performance of insulation products, with a special focus on sustainability. He holds many insulation product patents. His most recent work with Knauf includes an emphasis on environmental issues, as the industry works to promote insulation’s role in reducing energy consumption and preserving our natural resources, while maintaining comfortable and healthy indoor environments.

Scott is involved in a wide range of industry organizations. He serves as Chairman of the Sustainability and Environment Committee of the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), as well as serving on the Regulatory and Political Affairs Committee. He is also active with BIFMA (Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers’ Association), ASHRAE (serving as Chairman of Chapter 26 – Mechanical Insulation – Fundamentals Handbook), the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, the U.S. Green Building Council, ASTM and others.
