Bob Claxton
Bob Claxton is President of Knauf Insulation North America. He is responsible for overseeing all North American operations. In this role, Bob touches every aspect of the business including finance, product development, sales and marketing, and distribution. Drawing on his varied experience, Bob offers a unique perspective on the future of the insulation industry and a clear vision for Knauf’s place in it.
Beginning his tenure as Knauf’s President in January 2006 capped a career spanning 30 years in the insulation industry. He began work in the finance department for CertainTeed Corporation in Shelbyville, Indiana in 1976. He joined Knauf in 1978 following the Knauf family’s acquisition of the CertainTeed Shelbyville plant, and focused on upgrading the plant’s operations.
After helping transition the plant operations, Bob became Knauf’s Marketing Coordinator assisting with the launch of multiple Knauf promotional efforts.
Moving back into Operations next, Bob eventually served as Plant Manager in Shelbyville in the early 1980s. He was later Project Manager overseeing the construction of Knauf’s Lanett (Alabama) facility. In 1988, he became the Plant Manager of that facility.
In 1996, Bob moved back to Shelbyville and spent the next ten years serving as Knauf’s Senior Vice-President of Finance before being named President in 2006.
